The 3 biggest music festivals in Hungary

If you are a music lover and planning to spend your summer vacation in Hungary, there are 3 big festivals in different areas of the country that you should visit.

Sziget Festival

First it was held in 1993. In every August the Óbuda island in Budapest this great music festival takes place for a week. Delighted revelers come together to celebrate freedom at this one week long event which has a wonderful lineup of shows of world-famous and regional performers. Throughout the event visitors can take pleasure in activities like circus gigs, sports and theatre programs, ability games, as well as art workshops, while lots of chill areas wait for you all around the island.

VOLT Festival

VOLT Fesztivál

Sopronban rendezik meg 1993 óta, a városban az osztrák határ mellett, közel a Fertő tóhoz. A fesztivál melettérdemes egy túrát tenni a városban. A régi területek stílusa a történelmi hátteret mutatja: a római korból származó falak és épületalapok még mindig meghatározóak , éppúgy mint a középkori, a reneszánsz és a barokk munkák széles tárháza bemutatja azokat az évszázadokat, amikor ez a birodalom uralta Európát.

Sopron bortermelő terület is, egyike a nem túl soknak, ahol vörös és fehér bort egyaránt készítenek. A Kékfrankos és a Tramini népszerűek. A klíma hasonlít az ausztriai Burgenlandéhoz.

Balaton Sound

Júliusban Zamárdi – amely a Balaton déli partján van – ad otthont Európa egyik legjelentősebb szabadtéri elektronikus zenei ünnepének. 2007 óta minden évben megrendezik és a világ minden tájáról szerepelnek DJ-k, a jól ismert zenészektől azokig, akik most kezdik a pályafutásukat.
